Together with own ongoing work to improve our fantastic website, we will shortly be introducing ‘colour swatches’ alongside each of our products. We are aware that certain products on our current website do not give you an indication of its colour, like the little girls wrap around ballet cardigan (P24).
At Dance Direct we want our customers shopping experience to be as fun and as easy as possible so that when buying pink ballet tights for their little dancer or a beautiful black Capezio leotard as a birthday present for their friend, our website will give our customers a true colour swatch showing the shade of pink, blue and every other colour we supply. There is really nothing more annoying than opening the parcel and taking out your brand new Bloch ballet shoes or your pink ballet pumps and finding that they are a completely different colour to the one you ordered. This will cause disappointment and upset for little ballet dancers who have been eagerly awaiting the arrival of their ballet uniform.
We realize that this colourful step forward has been long overdue and a long time in the making but we want it to be as accurate as possible, our IT Manager has been working very hard to create this new feature. There are so many different shades of pink, it would be easy to just added one colour spot to cover all these shades but again it would cause unnecessary upset, we want our products and information to be as true and sincere as possible for our customers.
The 60’s was full of psychedelic colours, flower power and free living, and whereas the flower power and free living has stayed in the past, the colours have made a comeback with intensity, it’s a well known fact that the brighter the colour, the brighter, more positive and happier the person is wearing it, with this in mind and with grey being the colour most associated with the recession causing dark clouds to hang over peoples lives, we have injected lots of funky, vibrant and fun colours into our ballet and dancewear.
During the last recession back in the early 90’s the colours green and orange made a slight appearance but nowhere near on the scale that we are seeing all around us now. Everywhere we look there are shocking pinks, fluorescent greens and yellows followed by bright blues and oranges. At Dance Direct we are no different, our wacky new tutus, fluorescent ankle warmers and coloured footless tights will certainly be enough to cheer everybody up from this economic slump and get ready to be amazed at the new colours to be featured in next years catalogue.
Colours are back!
