France and London Photos Shoots

We are not long back from our last photo shoot, which was a very long and tiring but very exciting three days in Bordeaux in France. As we mentioned before we had been given the opportunity to carry out our photo shoot inside one of the theatres in Bordeaux. We have now shot all of our new adult leotards and children’s leotards ready to be featured in our new catalogue due out in February 2010. These new ballet leotards include Plume leotards, Capezio and Bloch leotards in various different colours.

Juliette Hilaire from the Paris Opera is our cover girl this year, after the photo shoot we interviewed her and were able to get a great insight into the life of a young dancer working within such a prestigious ballet company, we will be publishing this interview in our new catalogue. Throughout the photo shoot Juliette was enthusiastic and extremely patient during the constant position changing and re-posing, we were so impressed and excited about the photos that we want to give everyone a sneak preview and so will be putting a couple of pictures onto our Facebook page shortly.

We are very excited about the theatre photos with different backdrops and backstage shots; we got a gorgeous photo of Juliette in a stunning white tutu that we know is going to make an amazing front cover for our next issue of Dance Direct.

Juliette has such an amazing instep that we definitely couldn’t miss out on the opportunity to re-photograph some of our soft ballet shoes like the Daisy and the little cheap ballet shoes; the SBS. It was time to revamp some of the pictures which were now starting to look a little dated. These pink ballet shoes looked great with our pink ballet tights.

After travelling back and forth to France for different photo shoots over the last eight weeks, this time round we have just returned from our latest photo shoot which took place in London where we shot all of our new urban dancewear range. We are very excited we got to work in some amazing studios in London which enabled us to take some great new photos.

It was such an honour to work with three well known figures from within the world of professional dance. These girls are major hip hop and street dance stars who have worked on massive shows, videos, concerts and TV channels including MTV and they are of the highest calibre. We interviewed each of the girls which gave us a great insight into the life of professional commercial street dance artists; these will be published in the new catalogue. The interviews are great to do because they always give aspiring young dancers influence and inspiration to follow their dreams and ambitions.

The energy levels during the photo shoot were highly charged which was superb, this was definitely injected into the photos that we took, the pictures look alive and fresh. Our new range of urban dancewear from Nike, Pineapple, Freddy and Plume are going to look amazing in the new catalogue.

Aware that our photographs of our dance basics range was starting to look a little tired and dated because the same photos had been used for a few years now in the catalogues and on the website we reshot all of the dance tops, jazz pants, camisole tops and hot pants.
