We have been working really hard recently to improve our customer services, especially in regards to the ease of access and information available for our European customers, and now Dance Direct Germany is approaching its final phases. The finishing touches are being added to the distribution set-up and marketing operation and we hope to be opening up to German customers within the next 8 weeks. We are extremely excited about this new step the business is taking in providing the best possible customer service for our customers and potential customers alike.
Dance Direct already has a strong presence in Germany with some big dance schools currently ordering their dancewear, ballet leotards and children’s tights from us. Unfortunately at the moment these are limited to English speaking customers, so we are very keen to target the rest of the German market and supply them with good quality cheap dancewear, up to 50% less then retail prices and with our new range of Plume Lycra dancewear in many different styles, sizes and colours, its so easy to kit out entire dance schools at affordable prices. The local distribution we are currently implementing will bring a sense of proximity for our German customers and by displaying our entire product prices in Euros, European customers will be able to see an accurate price and not have to worry about converting the prices themselves.
The new German side of the business has taken a while to come together, the reason being is we wanted to make sure we did everything properly and not just throw together a website in German, we wanted to have the correct points of contact with a team of German speaking customer service representatives.
There are lots of new and exciting plans for the business for the near future and we don’t want to give too much away too early, but we will say that we are awaiting the plans to have some extra rooms added to the building. There will be a large photography and video studio, a samples room and further offices and meeting rooms, more information will follow as the plans get underway.
With the recent launch of our latest catalogue we have seen a dramatic increase in the sales of our urban dancewear. After it being so slow last year, maybe due to the recession or because of our poor choice in product styles and colours we do not know, but this year already we have completely sold out of a lot of our new Nike, Plume and Pineapple urban dancewear and we are desperately placing new orders with our suppliers ready to fulfil our orders for customers. Even though the urban dancewear itself is selling super fast, our dance sneakers are doing quite the opposite and selling very slowly, it seems dancers currently do not want to finish their outfit off with a funky new pair of iconic must have dance sneakers.
