Dance is on the move

The Dance Direct warehouse in France is literally bursting at the seams, so over the last few weeks we have been visiting bigger premises in and around the town of Bordeaux. There is one particular warehouse that we are very interested in and we will be discussing the details later this week. We are extremely excited about the prospect of moving to this new site and we will be packing up all of our pink leotards, ballet tights and dance shoes in hope to be settled in before the end of this year. Situated in the centre of the old town in Bordeaux, this is a large warehouse of around 1200 metres squared, complete with onsite parking for staff and the location of this warehouse gives us perfect retail opportunities for the future. This will be the third move in eight years for the French site and a transfer to bigger premises is such a positive move which only shows that our business is going from strength to strength. With the added capacity of the new warehouse we will be able to carry many more dancewear lines and more quantities of each of these products which will eliminate any disappointment caused by out of stock items. As always we strive to give our customers the best possible service at all times.

Dance Direct in England are getting ready to add the first few new exclusive dancewear products to the website this week. There is a fantastic book called ‘Nutrition for the Dancer’ which is for the keen dancers out there who are serious about their body condition and nutrition, this book includes calculating calorie requirements, reducing body fat, performance preparation and recovery from injury. We also have some gorgeous new Bloch leotards and Capezio leotards in the ever popular colour black and also some ‘stand out and look at me’ hot pink leotards for the more adventurous dancers or for those wanting to stand out at an audition.

We have also just approved a very new and exciting design for our basic leather ballet shoe with reference SBS. At the moment parents of dancers, dance teachers and dancers currently have to stitch the elastic strap to the shoe themselves after positioning the strap for comfort and support over the dancers instep, this can be a real pain and eat into precious dancing or teaching time. This new design has Velcro stitched onto the elastic straps at both sides and fixes to the shoe in no time at all and is so versatile that it fits any size instep. We are pleased to advise we will not be increasing our low price of this shoe because we believe our customers deserve only the best.
