Masterclasses at Danceworks

London’s Danceworks began its masterclass series during the pandemic, leading with Alejandro Parente and Marianela Nuñez, followed by Vadim Muntagirov. Swapping out their stage costumes and practice wear put away for lockdown, and donning their best leotards, tights and leggings, it has been a chance to offer unique training experiences to other dancers.

Named its Summer Series, the next Danceworks series is both online and in the studio. The masterclasses are taught by world renowned dancers from The Royal Ballet and Ballet Black in the Danceworks studios, and will also be live streamed for those who wish to join online.

The series will see the return of Vadim Muntagirov and a masterclass with Birmingham Royal Ballet’s Brandon Lawrence. Following this is Alejandro Parente and Marianela Nuñez, The Royal Ballet’s Alexander Campbell, former Royal Ballet First Artist Nathalie Harrison, Royal Ballet First Soloist Clare Calvert, Ballet Black‘s Senior Artist José Alves, and Vadim Muntagirov. Joining the masterclasses online costs £9, while prices in the studio are from £15.

Alejandro Parente is currently teaching twice a week at Danceworks – with Marianela Nuñez taking the class too – on Wednesdays between 14.30-16.00 BST, and Thursdays from 13.00-14.30 BST. Classes are bookable from one week ahead and are suitable for students who are interested in improving their arm movements and coordination, and also their upper body placement and posture. Those joining in the studio should be intermediate or advanced level dancers aged 14 and over, but the live stream option is available to all abilities and ages.

Since 1982, Danceworks has been providing a friendly and inclusive environment for all forms of dance and fitness of the highest quality. Now one of the worlds leading studios, it offers an incredible variety of accessible dance, fitness, yoga, Pilates, martial arts and singing classes. Whatever your style or ability, there is a class for you.
